  Road to Tara Museum
Whether you are a Gone With The Wind fan, Civil War buff or history lover, you will find something to enjoy at the Road to Tara Museum. Celebrating the literary and cinematic impact of Gone With The Wind, see replica costumes, foreign edition books, props from the movie, Civil War items and more.

  Historic Tours
Choose from two different historic tours on a 14 passenger mini-bus. The Southern Belles & Whistles tour highlights the history and heritage of downtown Jonesboro.  The Gone With The Wind tour gives you details on Margaret Mitchell's book Gone With The Wind and its surprising ties to Jonesboro.

  Stately Oaks Plantation

Built in 1839, this Greek Revival plantation home stands among several authentic outbuildings. The Bethel One-Room Schoolhouse, Juddy’s Country Store, and the original Log Kitchen are among the historic buildings within this complex.  Visitors are educated about the historic significance of plantations in the South along with the importance of the Civil War.

  National Archives at Atlanta
Home to the famous, infamous and anonymous heroes of years past. The National Archives's 140,000 cubic feet of historic records encompass science/invention, immigration, military service, popular culture and Civil Rights.  This facility offers a "one-stop" geneaological experience and serves as an invaluable tool for those who wish to trace their family history. Free family-tree workshops are great for family reunions.

  Georgia State Archives
The Georgia Archives identifies and preserves Georgia's most valuable historical documents. This facility serves as Georgia's center for genealogy research and is located beside the National Archives at Atlanta.

Newman Wetlands Center
This 32 acre center is home to birds, reptiles, amphibians and serves as a great place for an outdoor adventure. Wander the half mile of walking trails around the beautiful wetlands or enjoy an outdoor picnic. A great, free attraction.

Reynolds Nature Preserve
Discover 146 acres of outdoor adventure with four miles of hiking trails, ponds, birding and picnic areas. The interpretive center houses a collection of amphibians and reptiles. This free attraction is great for all ages.

Clayton County International Park
For unlimited family fun, visit Clayton County's International Park. During the summer, visit The Beach, a six acre lake with water features and sandy beach. Arts Clayton Gallery
Located in downtown Jonesboro, this gallery offers original art by Georgia artists. The side of the building is adorned with four murals depicting stories of Jonesboro in the 1940s and 1950s.
